Horst Peltzschler

Horst Peltzschler flew with both I/JG-3 "Udet", and III/JG-51 " Mölders during the war. He achieved twenty six  aerial victories. twenty two against the Soviet VVS, and four against the USAAF. After the war Horst spent 4 years as a Soviet prisoner of war. He now lives in the United States in Kansas. The founders of this squad all have deep roots with JG-3 Udet prior to becoming JG-51. The men that actually flew and fought in the machines we can only play at , are a dwindling resource no matter which side they fought on. Jagdgeshwader -51 Mölders of Warbirds has adopted the "Peltzschler Medal", this award will be given to squadron members who achieve a kill streak of thirty, or for outstanding contributions to the squad. One of our Members recently had the good fortune to meet Mr. Peltzschler in person, see photographs below.
